Designed for Confined Spaces and Damp
Substrates that are typical in Ballast Tank Environments:
–It
has been designed to work in the damp, humid and poorly ventilated areas
that are
experienced when repairing and maintaining ballast tanks.
–
Used as a strip coat to repair and protect high corrosion areas i.e. welds,
sharp edges and joins.
–
Adhesion test results on wet substrates far exceed the industry norm
reaching over 1300 psi
before cohesive failure.
–Moisture
Tolerant – the product does not require any special heating or
de-humidification
equipment to insure reliable application – reducing
application costs.
RA 500 M on a sweating and
damp surface typically found within a ballast tank
–RA 500
M is 100% solvent and styrene free and does not require any expensive
ventilation equipment that traditional solvent borne or polyester systems
require in the confined space of a ballast tank.
–Reduces the risk
of M.I.C. (Microbiological Induced Corrosion) and S.R.B (sulphate reducing
bacteria) because it does not contain the food nutrients
contained in solvent
coatings which these microbes thrive on.
–Coating compatible with virtually every coal tar epoxy coating and other
traditional ballast tank coatings.
RA 500 M used to repair wet, unblasted, poorly
prepared corroding coal tar epoxy coated welded joints typically found in
ballast tanks
–Will cure
under water – reducing costly back in service times.
–
Glass flake technology ensures superb corrosion resistance and a long
service lifetime.
–
Ideal
for poorly and hand prepared surfaces – reducing the down time and back in
service time.
–
Can be applied in very high humidity conditions (> 95%).
