Chem-tect series are based on vinyl ester resins, reinforced with screened glassflake and catalysed with 1-3% of organic peroxide. They form very durable coatings with excellent, all-round mechanical and chemical resistance properties (particularly in alkaline environments). They can easily be spray, brush or trowel applied.
Product Characteristics
Since their introduction to the market our vinyl ester range has established itself as a premier product for providing long lasting protection especially from effects of aggressive chemicals, abrasion and high temperatures. Their chemical composition and properties makes them extremely versatile and adaptable, enabling our Technical Department to design a range of systems for use in many industries.
Their benefits include:
outstanding high temperature performance
(immersed up to 130ºC, atmospheric up to 195ºC)
excellent chemical resistance (pH1-14)
fast curing even at low
temperatures
high impact and fatigue resistance
touch dry within 2 - 4 hrs
fast turnaround, equipment back in
service within 24 hrs
high damage resistance, even at low
temperatures
long term guarantees, in excess of 20
years

Case History Chem-tect was selected to protect oil storage tanks for
B.P. at Cruden Bay. The specification requirements were for an effective system capable of providing long term protection allowing the tanks to be put back into service with minimal delay or disruption.
In compliance with Chemco's Holistic Service Strategy we provided Technical Co-ordination and project management support to guarantee that Total Assurance was achieved during the project.
The contract was completed on time and within budget. A total area of >1,000sq.mts. was protected with a minimum life expectancy of 10 years.
