Pipeline Refurbishment in Dubai - Chemco International

The Dubai Electricity and Water Company recently had refurbishment requirements of their pipelines for over 4,000m². They contacted Chemco’s approved contractors Charisma Maintenance LLC (Dubai) looking for a solution as the existing coating system in place was showing signs of age and deterioration.

Charisma Maintenance LLC suggested a two coat system consisting of:

Primer Coat: Solvent-free, wet & rust tolerant Epo-chem™ RS 500P
Topcoat: High gloss/UV and chemically resistant Epo-chem™ RC 500GTC

Working in humid weather conditions and within a tight timeframe (9 days) added to the difficulties of this project.

Abrasive blasting was utilised as the main surface preparation method, with all welds and seams mechanically prepared. This was followed by one spot coat and one primer coat of Epo-chem™ RS 500P.

The coating system was completed by applying one topcoat of Epo-chem™ RC 500GTC.

Charisma Maintenance LLC completed the project within the given time frame, with no delays, to the complete satisfaction of all concerned.

The unique characteristics of the Chemco topcoat will ensure the pipelines retain high levels of gloss and colour retention and will also exhibit exceptional UV and chemical resistance.
