Client: Milking Parlour Farm
Industry: Industrial
Scope: Production Walls
Date: June 2009
Location: UK
Products: RA 500
OVERVIEW
Newly built Milking Parlour and building required protective coating for the concrete structure with the following characteristics: Safe, food contact grade, seamless, high gloss and capable of withstanding continuously wet condition. This project was carried out by VE-Tech Concrete.
CHALLENGE
No grit blasting was preferred, a solvent-free system for working in confined space and to allow other trades to carry out their work. Working to a very tight schedule. Coating to have a very smooth and glossy finish for ease of washing and decontamination and capable of withstanding daily pressure wash.
SOLUTION
Concrete was manually prepared and pressure washed followed by two coats of Epo-chem™ RA 500 solvent-free glassflake epoxy directly applied on to concrete without any primer.
OUTCOME
The technical benefits offered by this system allowed the work to be carried out on time, within budget, with no major delays and no disturbance to the normal operations of the working farm.
